Clay Club
Eight weeks of squishing, pinching, building, and glazing for our youngest makers (Grades K–2). Your child will make real ceramic pieces and bring them home.

Two sessions a week, because clay takes time
Clay has to dry a little between steps. Meeting twice a week lets your child build a piece, then come back when it is ready for the finishing touches.
Session A · Make
Wet-clay day. We start with a demo and kids build the week's new project with their hands, one friendly step at a time.
Session B · Refine & Color
By now the clay has firmed up to a sturdy “leather-hard” state. Kids add details, smooth, and decorate with underglazes.
A Typical Session
Two hours, from warm-up to wrap-up
Every class follows a comfortable rhythm so kids always know what comes next.
-
15 min
Welcome & clay warm-up
A sensory warm-up squeezing and wedging scrap clay, plus a demo of the day's technique.
-
45 min
Focused building
The main event. Kids build with step-by-step guidance from the studio.
-
15 min
Clean-up crew
Kids help wipe tables and put tools away, so the studio is ready for the next artists.
-
15 min
Snack & story
A clay-free snack break with a storytime or a short pottery video.
-
30 min
Surface work or free play
Adding textures, underglaze, and slip, or free-play creating with leftover clay scraps.
What We'll Make
Your child's 8-week gallery
Each week builds on the last, from first pinch pots to glazed pieces ready to show off.
Pinch Pot Animals
Clay basics and studio safety, then pinched pots turned into animals with ears, tails, and paws.
Coil Building
Rolling clay “snakes” and stacking them into a pencil holder or cup.
Texture Slabs
Stamping leaves, lace, and more into flat clay for plaques or coasters, then a small slab box or pocket vase.
Advanced Animal Sculptures
Bigger, more detailed creatures such as a turtle, a bird, or a hedgehog.
Relief Tiles & Catch-Up Day
Carved and built-up scenic tiles, plus a flexible day to catch up or make bonus pendants, beads, and tokens.
Glaze Prep & Glazing
Our first kiln-fired pieces are ready! Kids prepare them and begin adding glaze.
More Glazing & Air-Dry Clay
Finishing the glazing, then fairy garden items and miniature food in Model Magic and air-dry clay.
Finishing Touches & Gallery Night
Final touches and artist cards, then families join us for a “Studio Art Walk” and take the work home.
Good to Know
One flat fee, all eight weeks
Why there are no drop-ins
Clay can't be rushed. Every piece needs time to dry, be fired in the kiln, get glazed, and be fired again, and that happens across several weeks. A single class in the middle would leave a piece stranded, so Clay Club is a full 8-week experience with one upfront fee that covers everything, all materials included.
Gallery Night
On our final day, families are invited to join us for the last 45 minutes for a “Studio Art Walk”. Your child shows off their work, and then everything goes home with you. Please bring a flat box lined with towels or bubble wrap to carry the ceramics home safely.
